Belfast & Moosehead Lake Railway's Maine Rail Bike Excursions
A Great Family Outing!
Experience riding the rails from a unique
perspective while enjoying the wildlife along the
former Belfast & Moosehead Lake Railroad right
of way. Riding rail bikes is also a great way to
get in shape.
Belfast & Moosehead Lake Railway offers group Rail Bike excursions by appointment. We have limited seating which is by reservation. Patrons must have the appropriate footwear and clothing suitable for bike riding.
Rails in which rail bikes operate are protected. This is accomplished by isolating the track from any train operation. Guides, trained in rail operations, will stay with your group until your excursion concludes. Children under 10 are not permitted to operate rail bikes at this time but can be riders.
Please call ahead for scheduling. Contact Dianna at Garden Variety (568-3523) or by email at
gardenvariety25@gmail.com.

The Railroad reserves the right to change equipment and schedules without advance notice. The railroad cannot be responsible for unscheduled delays. Rail bikes are subject to weather conditions so please call in advance.
If you and/or a group are interested in rail bikes, or in being one of our guides, please Contact us for additional information and we would be happy to fill you in on the details. Group charters are available and require advanced booking.
Since this is a relatively new idea for our area, feedback is appreciated as we are committed to offering a quality experience.
The Belfast and Moosehead Lake Railway is a division of the Brooks Preservation Society, an all volunteer organization. Excursions help to fund our many preservation and restoration projects. If you're unable to ride with us, then consider a membership or small donation instead.
